Letter of Thanks

Dear Lopez family and friends.

The reunion was a great success. We had a wonderful day on Saturday. We had a great BBQ. Lots of food,fun,and games. Family members got reacquainted. Esmeralda cooked a great dinner for us. On Sunday we had another BBQ at Boyd Lake in Loveland. We rented the Marina Group Picnic Area, which was awesome. We had the entire area for our family. It had two huge grills, a fire place, plenty of tables, a playground for the kids, sand volley court, horseshoe pits, and our own access to the bathrooms. The lake had an beach area so the kids went swimming. Only problem was a visit from a snake.

I want to thank the executive board for all their hard work. I also want to thank the family Representatives that faithfully attended the meetings to plan our reunion. Special thanks to Esmeralda Orozco and Perla for all they did. Also thanks to Pedro for helping Esmeralda out. Thank you aunt Lola for cracking the whip when needed. You are an awesome lady. Thanks to Andrew Lopez for that wonderful picture CD he put together of family pictures. Thanks to Jenni Lopez for being our photographer, she did an awesome job, as well as putting our family web site together. Thanks to Christopher Lopez and Tonyo Lopez for cooking all the meat at the BBQ. Thanks to Christi Pena for all those wonderful salads she made for us. Thanks to the following committees: Entertainment--Joe Pena, Food--Ashley Lopez-Webster and Esmeralda Orozco, Games--Vanessia Gilmore, Decorations--Jessica Pena and Vanessia Gilmore, and the Clean-up--Tonyo Lopez, Steven Gilmore, Richard Webster, and Christopher Lopez. You guys did an awesome jobs on your committees!! Thanks to families that brought pop, salads, etc. to help out with the BBQ. Thank you to anyone I forgot.

A special thanks for all the elders that hosted meetings at their homes. And thank you one and all that gave up time to come help celebrate the legacy that my grandma Conception and my grandfather Diego Lopez started. We are getting bigger and bigger. It's important that we stay in contact with each other. It was wonderful seeing elders; up to 5 generations of the Lopez Legacy were present. I'm sorry that not all families could come. Maybe in 2011 all the elders and the families that couldn't come this year will attend. Again, thank you all so much for coming. Our next meeting will be on September 20th, 2009 at aunt Lola's.
