I forgot to say.....

Letter of Thanks
Dear Lopez family and friends.
The reunion was a great success. We had a wonderful day on Saturday. We had a great BBQ. Lots of food,fun,and games. Family members got reacquainted. Esmeralda cooked a great dinner for us. On Sunday we had another BBQ at Boyd Lake in Loveland. We rented the Marina Group Picnic Area, which was awesome. We had the entire area for our family. It had two huge grills, a fire place, plenty of tables, a playground for the kids, sand volley court, horseshoe pits, and our own access to the bathrooms. The lake had an beach area so the kids went swimming. Only problem was a visit from a snake.
I want to thank the executive board for all their hard work. I also want to thank the family Representatives that faithfully attended the meetings to plan our reunion. Special thanks to Esmeralda Orozco and Perla for all they did. Also thanks to Pedro for helping Esmeralda out. Thank you aunt Lola for cracking the whip when needed. You are an awesome lady. Thanks to Andrew Lopez for that wonderful picture CD he put together of family pictures. Thanks to Jenni Lopez for being our photographer, she did an awesome job, as well as putting our family web site together. Thanks to Christopher Lopez and Tonyo Lopez for cooking all the meat at the BBQ. Thanks to Christi Pena for all those wonderful salads she made for us. Thanks to the following committees: Entertainment--Joe Pena, Food--Ashley Lopez-Webster and Esmeralda Orozco, Games--Vanessia Gilmore, Decorations--Jessica Pena and Vanessia Gilmore, and the Clean-up--Tonyo Lopez, Steven Gilmore, Richard Webster, and Christopher Lopez. You guys did an awesome jobs on your committees!! Thanks to families that brought pop, salads, etc. to help out with the BBQ. Thank you to anyone I forgot.
A special thanks for all the elders that hosted meetings at their homes. And thank you one and all that gave up time to come help celebrate the legacy that my grandma Conception and my grandfather Diego Lopez started. We are getting bigger and bigger. It's important that we stay in contact with each other. It was wonderful seeing elders; up to 5 generations of the Lopez Legacy were present. I'm sorry that not all families could come. Maybe in 2011 all the elders and the families that couldn't come this year will attend. Again, thank you all so much for coming. Our next meeting will be on September 20th, 2009 at aunt Lola's. Family reunion pictures
This year's family reunion went great!! (In my opinion) Here are a few pictures from the first day. If you would like a copy of all the candid pictures on a CD, it cost just$10. You can mail it to me if you would like. If you would like to do that, just email me and I will send you the address. Also, the large family picture that was taken is also available. It will print as an 8X12 and will cost $15.

Reunion news
There was a reunion meeting last Sunday. There were a few things discussed that need to be shared.
For the lunch meal at the reunion, each family needs to bring a side dish. I think the dinner is covered. If not, i will post the update.
It has been requested that any and all family members that can stay to help clean up after the days activities would be much appreciated!
We also learned that Joe and Christi Pena will be grandparents for the 8th time! Anthony and his girlfriend Vivian, are expecting. She is due on February 10, 2010. Congratulations to them!!
We hope to see all of you at the reunion on Saturday at the Eaton park!! It's going to be a great day! It starts at 12, noon, but if you are going to help cook or set up, you can be there earlier.

Reunion Meeting
There is a meeting for the reunion this Sunday, July 28 at 3pm. The meeting will take place at Yolanda Orozco's house. If you are a representative or officer, please come to this meeting! This is the very last meeting before the reunion!! Please bring your reports.

Humpty Dumpty had a great FALL!
I have heard a few things from people this weekend. Diana (Daughter of Diego) fell down some stairs and broke her ankle and the plate above her ankle.
I also heard that Audreana Barnhart (Daughter of Nora Barnhart(Daughter of Johnny Lopez)) also fell and broke her ankle. I think she might have to have surgery.
Thoughts and prayers are will those people in need!

Welcome!
Welcome to the Lopez family website!! This website will help our family keep updated on what is happening in our family!! So check back often for updates!!!
Our first bit of news is of course our up and coming family reunion!! The reunion is on July 4 & 5. On July 4th, it will be at the Eaton park and community center. The festivities will start at 12, noon. It will go until 10pm. We will have a BBQ from 12-3, and 3-6 there will be games in the park for children of all ages, including horse shoes, volleyball, and a slip and slide. Hopefully we will have our traditional family softball game. We will also be having our business meeting that will take place at 3pm. Dinner will be from 6:30 to 7: 30 which will be followed by a silent auction, karaoke contest and dancing. Family pictures will be taken through out the day. Come prepared to have a great time!
On Sunday, July 5th, we will be at Boyd Lake. The exact location is at the Mariner Point Group Picnic Area (GPA) at the Boyd Lake State Park. There will be a BBQ and family socializing.
Please remember that in entering the park we will be required to pay the park entrance fee which is $7.00 per vehicle, unless you have a valid annual park pass.
